Ryan and Amee Forbes started Orcas Outdoors in 1995 and have been boating and kayaking throughout the San Juan Islands for 20 years. They have strong environmental ethics and sea kayaking is an extremely eco-friendly way to explore the Island’s unique marine environment.

Ryan and Amee have a commitment to provide you with an unforgettable experience. Orcas Outdoors operates its own kayak trips and therefore great care is taken in choosing who will represent the company. The staff is chosen for their caring nature, integrity, experience and highly developed outdoor skills and knowledge. Each member possess an exceptional spirit and unique ability to bring people together.
Safety and care of participating kayakers is the foremost concern. Both Ryan and Amee are EMT’s and First Aid Certified. The double kayaks are stable, comfortable any easy to paddle. You do not need previous kayaking experience and it is safe for nonswimmers. Orcas Outdoors provide top of the line Extra Sport Life Jackets, Snap Dragon Design Spray Skirts and Aqua Bound Paddles. All tours are fully guided and groups are small to provide maximum safety and enjoyment.
